1. Who we are

Vamio ("we", "us", "our") is a social discovery app that helps people find real-world plans and genuine connections nearby. The app is available at GetVamio.app and on the Apple App Store.

2. What information we collect

Information you provide directly:

• Name, age, and profile photo
• Bio, interests, and activities you're looking for
• Photo gallery images you upload
• Social intent preferences (e.g. "new friends", "networking")
• Messages you send through the in-app chat
• Plans you create or participate in (date, time, location, activity)
• Feedback you submit after a meetup

Information collected automatically:

• Your approximate location (when you grant permission) — used to show you nearby people and plans
• Device type and operating system (iOS version)
• App usage data (screens visited, features used) via Firebase Analytics
• Authentication data via Firebase Auth (email or sign-in method)

Information we do not collect:

• We do not collect precise GPS coordinates without your permission
• We do not access your contacts, camera roll, or microphone unless you explicitly choose to upload media
• We do not collect payment card details — payments are handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit / App Store infrastructure

3. How we use your information

• To create and display your profile to other Vamio users
• To show you people and plans that match your interests and location
• To enable in-app chat and plan coordination
• To maintain trust indicators and improve safety after meetups
• To enforce our safety rules, respond to reports, and block abusive users
• To improve the app through anonymised analytics
• To send you app notifications (only if you have enabled them)

We do not use your data to serve third-party advertisements. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers.

4. Location data

Vamio uses your location to calculate approximate distances between you and other users, and to support place search when creating plans. You control how much location detail is visible to others through the proximity controls in your profile settings.

We never display your exact address or precise coordinates to other users. Location permission can be revoked at any time through your iPhone settings.

5. How we store and protect your data

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore, Firebase Storage, and Firebase Auth), which provides industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. Profile photos and gallery images are stored in Firebase Storage with access rules that restrict visibility to authenticated users only.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal reasons.

6. Sharing your information

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• With other Vamio users — your public profile (name, photo, bio, interests, availability, distance) is visible to other users in the app. You can control visibility via your privacy settings.
• With Firebase / Google — our infrastructure provider processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement.
• With Apple — subscription and payment data is processed by Apple's App Store and StoreKit. We do not receive your full payment details.
• For legal reasons — we may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.

We do not share your data with any other third parties.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Object to or restrict processing of your data
• Withdraw your location permission at any time via iPhone Settings

8. Children's privacy

Vamio is strictly for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately at support@getvamio.com and we will delete the account.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If changes are significant, we will notify you through the app. Your continued use of Vamio after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
